In the year of 60th SNU
anniversary we recall events, that took place before and
during the uprising, when Banská Bystrica and its region were
in the centre of all events.
Due to the fact that there were
central headquarters of insurgents and that in the mountains
many partisans units were operating, this region was witness
of many events with not only regional, but also worldwide
impact.

From many events we have chosen to our calendar those that we
consider being important not only from the local point of view. We
provide it as a source of information that could help our readers
in better understanding of turbulent uprising time.
Our goal is to
highlight the most important role of Underground Army Headquarter
and antifascist orientated members of the Slovak Army in
preparation of the
story continues...
